CURE

MRO 8011S – E Putty SG

A 12.7mm thick section will harden at 21ºC in 1 hour.

MRO 8001S – S PUTTY SG

It hardens in around 2 hours at 21ºC at 12.5mm thick. The functional cure time may be reduced by curing at an elevated temperature.

MIXING

 

MRO 8051 – S Stick  – To be cut as per requirement and then mixed by kneading with hand.

MRO 8011S – E Putty  SG–Add Part B to Part A and mix thoroughly on a mixing board using a spatula. Remember you only have a 3-minute pot life so mix for 1 minute.

MRO 8001S S Putty SG – Add Part B to Part A and mix thoroughly on a mixing board using a spatula.

 

APPLICATION

 

After surface preparation cut out the required amount of MRO 8051 – S Stick with a knife and knead with fingers or briskly roll between palms to a uniform color.

Apply to the surface to be repaired within 3 minutes of mixing.

Force the material into any cracks or holes to be filled.

If leakage is difficult to be arrested with MRO 8051 – S Stick then another option is to cut as per requirement MRO 8020 – Reinforcement Tape & saturate it with mixed MRO 8011S – E Putty SG & try to plug the leakage with it.

On hardening inspect the area to ascertain leakage stoppage.

Overlay the repaired area with MRO 8011S – E Putty SG.

On hardening of ‘MRO 8011S – E Putty SG’ lay it with ‘MRO 8001S  – S Putty SG’ on the repaired area & its adjoining area with a spatula.

Use MRO 8020 – Reinforcement Tape for additional reinforcement if required.

Proper surface preparation is essential to a successful application. The following procedures should be considered:

  1. Pinpoint the leakage area.
  2. All surfaces must be dry, clean, and rough.
  3. If the surface is oily or greasy use ‘MRO 1011 Kleaner Degreezer’ to degrease the surface.
  4. Remove all paint by using ‘MRO 1017 – Paint Remover’,
  5. Remove rust and grime from the surface by mechanical techniques.
  6. Provide a “profile” on the metal surface by roughening the surface. This should be done ideally by Emery Paper (8-40 mesh grit)
