SURFACE PREPARATION

All new cement-sand renderings /concrete surfaces should be allowed to age 6 to 8 weeks before surface coating.

Surfaces should be clean and sound and free of all bond-inhibiting contaminants.

Concrete substrates should be fully cured.

Repair any holes, spalled and damaged concrete with appropriate repair solutions with repair materials. Allow appropriate cure time prior to coating.

Remove any protruding concrete accessories and smooth out any surface irregularities.

High-pressure power wash surface (or abrasive blast on hard, dense surfaces) to create a profile of SP 3, ICRI. Finally vacuum cleaning of all loose solids and liquids can be done, if required .

Some stains may require chemical removal. Neutralize any cleaning compounds used and rinse with clean water.

Check adhesion of old coatings according to ASTM D 3359, Measuring Adhesion by tape.

Remove any blisters or delaminated areas and sand edges to smooth rough areas and provide transition to old paint areas.

MIXING

Prior to use, mix ‘MRO 4021 – Rainshade’ at slow speed with drill and mixing paddle to ensure uniform colour and aggregate disbursement and to minimize air entrapment.

In multi-pail applications, mix the contents of each new pail into the partially used previous pail to ensure color consistency and smooth transitions from pail to pail.

APPLICATION

Apply two neat coats of ‘MRO 4021 – Rainshade’ without dilution by brush or roller at a time interval of 5-6 hours.
Allow the coated surface to air cure fully for 7 days.

18 months if kept in a dry store. In high humidity locations, the shelf life will reduce.

All used and unused product should be disposed of in accordance with state regulations.
